Another week, another government data loss. Only three million people are affected this time, though, which is practically nothing by the regular standards of incompetence that prevail wherever government agencies have access to people’s information.

This time, a contractor for the DVLA has lost the details of learner drivers somewhere in the US.

I don’t care. In fact, I love it when the government does propaganda work for me. The case against ID cards gets stronger all the time. A few more débâcles like this and the last few trusting fools will be fighting to keep their personal data out of the clumsy hands of Big Brother.
