This is pretty big news, at least for me.

The “Face on Mars” turned out to be nothing of the sort, but the news that Mars is “likely” to have had salty seas at some time in the past is genuinely significant for the prospect of finding life there—even if only of the fossilised variety.

I am certain that it’s just a coincidence, but I always found it interesting that the human circadian cycle is, at about 25 hours, closer to the martian sol ( 24:39’35.2”) than the terran one.

I wonder whether living under Mars’ butterscotch sky would be more or less depressing than Belgium’s perpetual leaden grey.
