I’ve had a few favourable comments on my new design so far. I though that I should give credit to Gothamist for a not inconsiderable share of inspiration, especially for the spaced-out title lettering (I didn’t even know you could do that before) and giving me the idea of asymmetrical border weighting. I combined those ideas with elements from my previous design, and I was really pleased with what came out of it. I don’t think this is too much of a rip-off, but if you disagree, do let me know!

My attention has been drawn to a weird Internet Explorer text selection bug:

Something odd is that it is impossible to select text properly in explorer. It ends up selecting the whole page for some reason.

I’m not sure why this is, although it affects Gothamist, too. Since I used their column layout CSS code with very little modification, I suspect it’s something in there. The dangers of “borrowing,” I suppose!

Incidentally, can you identify the cityscape behind the title? I took the photo myself, which narrows it down a little bit.
