Amity Continued

I thought it might be interesting to show a picture of my Amity tablet computer, so here’s a photo of it in use. It shows how small it is, if nothing else.

The badly cut out section above the screen is presumably where a company logo was removed. I expect that the previous owner was some large corporation and had had all their devices branded (maybe at the factory). There’s an area on the flip cover too, where a logo of some kind has been erased using an abrasive tool.

The hard disk had also been erased, leaving it to boot into a DOS prompt with a message in Japanese thanking the purchaser and explaining that the disk had been wiped. I wonder how well it was erased, and whether a surface scan would have revealed anything about its origins. It’s too late now.
