The university results came out yesterday, and I got 2(i). Not bad—actually, it is good: it’s exactly what I expected, and I’m happy with it. Maybe if I had worked harder, I could have managed a first, but I was never aiming for a first anyway. I think it would just have given me even more grey hairs if the stress didn’t kill me first! It’s a huge weight off my mind to know the result. Tomorrow is the last day of term, and my last day at university!

On an unrelated note, I was sent this amusing work of art this afternoon:

I’m not sure what is more impressive—the formidable Photoshop skills in evidence, or that the artist managed to extract those choice poses from the live action!

I spent some of today working through the first few ’days’ of SAMS’ Teach Yourself Ruby in 21 Days. Ruby is a very interesting language, and quite a different programming paradigm to other supposedly object-oriented languages (naming no names...). The book is good at showing the particular features of Ruby, or seems to be so far. It’s very much an ’up and coming’ language, from what I gather, but worth a look, I think. Maybe I’ll write a bit more here when I’ve delved deeper.

Oh—in response to comments (hi Griet!), I have changed the background. It’s a backdrop that I lifted off another webpage many years ago, and had sitting on my hard drive. I changed the colours to match this site. I can’t remember where I got it, so I can’t offer any credit!
