Basic rules

I’ve added a comment feature in the interests of fostering discussion and community and improving the quality of information on this website.

However, please understand that this is my website. I generally won’t delete comments, but reserve the right to do so in extreme cases.

I want reasonable and intelligent discourse. Differing political views, coherently stated, will not be deleted. Incoherent, foaming-at-the mount diatribe may be. That’s my prerogative!

Finally, if you want to have a picture displayed next to your comments, get a Gravatar.

Links and formatting

You can use a limited subset of Textile markup to decorate your comments.

• *strong* → strong
• "a link":http://po-ru.com/ → a link

Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to paste source code into the comments. If you have difficulties, please leave a comment anyway, email me with the desired text, and I’ll update the comment.

Here comes the legal bit. You retain the copyright to anything you post. However, by adding a comment, you also grant me the non-exclusive right to republish or sublicense the content of any comment.

Spammers

By attempting to spam my website—by which I mean by leaving comments of an irrelevant, unwanted commercial nature, or by using an automated system to leave commercial comments—you are granting me full access to your computer and those of the enterprise for whom you work, including, but not limited to, port scanning and any means of remote access that I can find.
