Oude Kerk (Old Church). Built next to a canal, the tower predictably started leaning. To compensate, the upper part of the tower is constructed at a different angle to the rest.
Stadhuis (City Hall). There's an ugly new administration building further out; the old hall is now used for weddings.
Nieuwe Kerk (New Church). There are 370 steps to the top of the tower. I climbed them.
Looking towards the Oude Kerk from the tower of the Nieuwe Kerk.
I'm not sure what the architectural name for these little stone points is.
The Stadhuis viewed from the tower, with a wedding in progress.
People in the marketplace below.
From the top of the tower, Protestants can literally look down on Catholics.
Lightning conductor.
Stonework around the tower.
Another lightning conductor. Well, it is a tall tower.
The clock of the Nieuwe Kerk.
A classic Gothic lattice.
There are several gargoyles, but this one was the ugliest—and gargoyles should be ugly!
Blue heart.
This is not grass: it's a rather fetid canal. Sticking out of the water is a leg of a shopping trolley.
