Something about this news report amused me:

The Daily Telegraph has become the first national UK newspaper to introduce births, deaths and marriages announcements online, in the format of a social networking site. ... Users will also have their own individual page in the online announcements section.

To be honest, I’m not sure how much use newborns are going to make of a social networking site. As for dead people—well, it would bring a new meaning to ‘ethernet’.
