Jubilee Line Fail

If, like me, you live on the Jubilee Line, you’ll be familiar with the ongoing incompetence of the upgrade currently being carried out. This upgrade was due to finish in March 2009. It’s still going on, with line closures scheduled for almost every weekend through to April 2010.

In order to keep track of the weekends when I won’t be able to use the line, I’ve made a public calendar. You can import this into your own calendar using this link (you probably need to copy and paste the URL itself):

I’ve based it on TfL’s press release. Let me know of any errors or omissions.

Nice one. This would have been really useful when it was closed going east all those weekends.

I’ve been using TubeStatus on Android for this stuff (which is pretty good).

This will help with planning weekends.

It breaks my heart. I was many years ago a senior signals and telecoms tech on the old London underground. I was a guy then am MtF “transsexual” now.

It really meant something to us, was like a huge family and a “job for life”. We watched in horror as “they” switched the agenda from mntnce and what we called “New Works” to cosmetic improvements to prepare for privatisation.

I left after the Kings cross fire after working with The Independent on their story 21/11/1987

That was a direct result of closing our lifts and escalators dept. in all conscience i could not go on under the new regime.

Now I try not to travel on what was once my beautiful railway, ah well, nostalgia aint what it used to be, but you have my sympathy.
